It is no secret that we has humans will have difficulties in our life and our road ahead will be filled with bumps along the way. Recently in my Bible study group, we debated the topic of "Should we blame God for all of our troubles?", and I believe that we should not blame God. Here's a little story about difficulties in my life.
The last two years for me have been some of the hardest times in my life. You often hear people say that "This is the worst day ever!!!" and I can safely say that many of those 700+ days from 2010-2012 were the worst days ever for me. Here are the reasons why it was so bad: In September 2010, my grandmother passed away after a very long illness. In fact, she actually died from an infection that she had gotten in the hospital rather than the extended kidney failure that she had experienced. My grandmother was truly loved by God because in late 2009, the doctors said that since my grandma had given up on dialysis, she was only going to live for two days up to two weeks. First of all? How does someone prepare for that, and secondly, how do you say goodbye to someone. Well, my grandma didn't pass away in those "two days to two weeks," she lived 10 more months. God does perform miracles. The second incident was that a classmate of mine who I considered to be the love of my life rejected me and shattered my heart...on Valentine's Day no less. A week after that, my best friend betrayed me and abandoned me. Two months later, my school announced that it was closing at the end of the year, and that was my junior year in high school.....I had only one year left...
I will admit that I while I didn't outright blame God for these problems, I did find myself saying "God, why is this happening to me?" You shouldn't blame God for them, but you should always pray for guidance and that He will direct you through the bad times, because good times are always on the horizon, and God has a plan for all of us. You should not blame God, because He is not at fault. In Hebrews 13:5, God says that "I will never fail you, I will never abandon you." One of my favorite songs by the popular Christian pop group The Rubyz is the song Big God. My favorite lyrics to that song are "Where ever you may go, He has got a plan," and "You might have big problems, but you've got a big God."
